EASY BIRD BREAD RECIPE

This recipe produces a heavy, dense bread that doesn't easily fall apart,
making it easier to store and freeze.

2 cups baking mix (Bisquick, Jiffy, Aunt Martha, etc.)

2 cups white or yellow corn meal

1 cup whole wheat flour

2 tablespoons baking powder

4 eggs

3 6-ounce jars of pureed fruit or vegetable baby food, any combination

Any additions you choose to include (cheese, chopped fruit or vegetables,
nuts, peanut butter, etc.)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Heavily grease one 9"x13" cake pan.
Mix all dry ingredients together well in large bowl.
Add eggs and baby food. Stir until all ingredients are evenly moist.
Batter will be very thick and heavy. Pour batter into cake pan.
Bake approximately 40 minutes, or until cake pulls away from sides of pan.
Cool completely, cut into small cubes.
Reserve enough for 2-3 days, and freeze the rest. Thaw as needed.
Enjoy!

Pre-heat oven to 350

COMBINE in a large bowl:
2 cups corn meal flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 Tablespoon baking soda (optional, sometimes I do not add this)
3 eggs with crushed shells
1 cooked, peeled and mashed sweet potato
2 mashed whole banana
1 cup cooked beans of choice (red kidney, pinto, or you could use the 15
soup bean mix and only cook one cup)
2 cups veggies or fruit of choice (broccoli, peas....anything!)
4 tablespoons peanut butter or almond butter or sunflower seed butter
1/2 cup mixed chopped nuts (can be all one kind...just use what you
have)
2 jars of baby food (use something like carrot, broccoli or squash...a
veggie that is good for him that he does not eat readily when offered
fresh)

Mix, and placed in a well greased baking pan or choice. (I use spray pam
to grease my pan...and I use a normal cake pan to bake my bread in.)

BAKE for 30-45 minutes
This bread will have a dense consistency. You really cannot judge its
doneness with a tooth pick...but try not to over cook. Use your
judgment...and it will come out fine!!

I also change things around in this mix. Like sometimes I do 1 cup of
flaxseed flour and 1 cup of corn meal flour instead of two cups corn
meal. Sometimes I add 2 bananas instead of one. When I am cooking, I
often through stuff in because I think it will make it better. I just
watch my batter that it is not too wet or too dry.

ONCE done, I go ahead and pre-cut my slices while the bread is hot...but
I do not remove it from the pan. I then cool and serve what I want fresh
and freeze the rest. To reheat, I run a touch of water over the slices
and place in the microwave until warmed. WATCH FOR HOT SPOTS!!!!!!!! You
can also defrost in refrigerator over night a piece to warm up for the
next day.

Birdie French Toast
2 eggs
2 oz Gerber sweet potato
4 slices whole wheat bread
sliced almonds
Mix 2 eggs and sweet potatoes.  Dip bread into mixture and cook in frying pan until golden brown on both sides.  Sprinkle with almonds or other favorite nuts.  (I also sprinkle with cinnamon)  Cut into talon sized pieces and serve.

Plastic Gelatine   comparable to acrylic

9 Tbs. water
3 packets knox unflavored gelatine
5-8 drops of food coloring

Bring water and food coloring to a boil and add in the 3 packages of knox
stir until dissolved.

Place mixture in a shallow pan or bowl and let sit for 45 minutes. Peel out
of bowl. You can use anything according to size of bird. Thicker pieces for
bigger birds and thinner pieces for smaller birds keeping in mind that these
object you cut out with cookie cutters with shrink a bit when air drying.
Cut into shapes with cookie cutters or what ever else you have to use. Don't
forget to make a hole to string leather or rope through them. You can use a
pencil or something bigger round for bigger holes. Place on mesh to dry for
2-3 days of drying time will depend on the thickness. I use cookie screens
that cool of cookies. There will be alot of shrinkage almost by half.

Birdie Birthday Cake recipe...

Jiffy corn muffin mix--mix it according to the box, 1 egg, and 1/3 cup of
milk,
I added:
1/3 cup ground carrots
1/3 cup blueberries

Baked it in a 350 oven for about 25 minutes in a round cake pan.

For "frosting"
I used instant mashed potatoes with just water added (no milk, salt or
butter).  Then I added organic herbs from "Just say No" parrot products so
at least there would be some good greens in the stuff.
Decorated it with corn and peas (frozen soaked in hot water).
